Technician - Technical Response
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Technician is responsible for executing and maintaining civil, architectural, fit-out, and finishing works across the property (hotel, gaming and public area). This includes performing repairs, renovations, enhancements and general maintenance including but not limited to carpentry, masonry, metalworking, interior and exterior finishing. The technician ensures that all tasks and work orders meet the quality, safety, and aesthetic standards to support high-level guest experience and operational efficiency.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responds quickly to service requests/work orders to carefully assess the issue and come up with an effective approach/methodology/schedule towards completion
- Performs routine inspections in the property as told by the Engineer/Architect
- Performs carpentry works, including but not limited to door repairs, furniture fixes, cabinetry, minor wood works, minor upholstery works, reinforcement works, drywalling, wood planks etc.
- Executes masonry tasks, including but not limited to concrete works, tile works, waterproofing, minor marble/stone repairs, etc.
- Carries out interior and exterior finishings, including but not limited to paints, wallcovers, padded walls, special finishing works for walls, ceiling, furniture, and decorative surfaces using the appropriate methodology and materials
- Performs routine inspections in the property as instructed by the Engineer/Architect
- Assists in corrective and preventive maintenance based on the schedule and reported issues.
- Supports minor renovation and refurbishment projects as directed by Engineer/Architect
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirement:
- Technical/Vocational certificate related to Carpentry/masonry/Painting or equivalent.
Experience Requirement:
- Prior experience in building maintenance or a related field is required with skills in multiple trades. Must have an experience with front of house (FOH) operations specifically with guest engagements.
Skills and Attributes:
- Technical skills: Knowledge of the safe work practices and basic occupational health and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications
- Problem solving skills: Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail to identify and resolve building issues efficiently
- Physical ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require physical effort
