Technician - Security Services (Req. ID No. 1169)
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
As directed by the Technical Specialist - Security Services, the Security Services Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of Security Access Control equipment allocated to support the entirety of the property, as well as the Electronic Key Management System, Digital/Tetra Radio Systems, In-House Locksmithing, and the Security Peripheral Systems. This position takes responsibility for with support and team work with Security Access Control Administrators, and as required, will act in the role of Lead Access Control Technician.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide supportive first-level and coordinated technical support of Security Access Control, Electronic Key Management, Digital/Tetra Radio, Keying Systems, Hotel Safes and Peripheral Security-based Equipment. Conduct and oversee In-House Locksmithing, key cutting and issuance
- Install new Security Access Control and electronic equipment, as well as maintaining technical logs of change
- Installation of electronic cabling systems; primarily coaxial, data and power cables throughout complex as required and effective coordination with IT
- Apply appropriate testing to newly installed equipment to ensure sound functionality, and escalating non resolved faults
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to all Security Services equipment used to support Security, Surveillance, PAGCOR and Gaming and Non-Gaming operations
- Employ effective fault finding techniques to rectify equipment failure
- Ensure all repairs including all solder work is conducted properly and is of a superior quality
- Plan and oversee appropriate response to equipment failure
- Ensure workshop stock and inventory levels are appropriately maintained and managed, oversee and follow up on any discrepancies
- Maintain cost effective use of stock and inventory, and investigate methods of in-house repair when possible
- Show initiative and involvement in all activities undertaken by the Security Technical team
- Undertake additional duties in the absence of the Senior Technician – Security Services
- Actively oversee and participate in the allocation and completion of team goals
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters pertaining to company equipment, procedures and information, and instill this in junior staff
- Comply with all company policies, rules, regulations, procedures and department ethics
- Perform all duties in accordance with the highest professional standards at all times
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirements:
- College Diploma or Bachelor degree
- Trade or formalized certification in a technical field
- Certifications of electronics and electronic works
- Vendor specialized certifications
Experience Requirements:
- Related experience with technical support of Security related systems
- First hand technical support experience
- Service and support based role within an integrated casino/ hotel environment preferred
Skills and Attributes:
- Technical experience with Security Access Control, Electronic Key Management, Digital and Tetra Radio Systems
- Knowledge with Windows based operating systems and all associated desktop hardware and software
- Displays a high commitment to delivering and improving Security Services
- Solving problems with high level of technical troubleshooting
