I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Senior Network Specialist will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network systems, providing advanced troubleshooting support, and leading network-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network architecture, security, and performance optimization.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Network Design & Implementation: Develop and implement network designs, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud-based networks, to support organizational needs.
• Network Management: Oversee the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor network performance, conduct regular health checks, and implement improvements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Security Management: Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures, including intrusion detection, prevention systems, and secure network access controls.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced technical support for network issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve complex network problems efficiently.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes; prepare and present reports on network performance, issues, and improvements.
• Project Leadership: Lead network-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and scope.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, including system administrators, cybersecurity experts, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure network operations comply with industry standards and regulations; stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in network management.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.

Experience Requirement:

• Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in network administration, with a strong background in network design, implementation, and management.
