Officer - Application Support Services

Business Unit:  Shared Services
Division:  Information Technology

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

Provides day-to-day support to oversee the efficient running of the company’s computer software applications ensuring that the systems meet their optimum potential. He/She acts as the company’s expert in the functionality of our corporate software applications as well as supports the Business, & IT Support Services in terms of service delivery, development, policy advice, and formulation.


II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Investigates problems with software applications, diagnose root causes, and work on solutions
  • Conducts the coordination with the Third Party Solutions Provider and Suppliers on the timelines and delivery dates of solutions and enhancements
  • Documents / writes specifications for business requirements and design IT Systems and components that meet these requirements, ensuring quality, efficiency, compatibility with existing IT Systems and networks and compliance with the relevant regulations
  • Implements new business applications, analyze the requirements of end users, and then test and integrated applications
  • Assists users of the company’s software applications by providing expert knowledge of the software used
  • Installs software upgrades and ensure that the company’s systems are maintained and fit for purpose
  • Keeps in touch with current practice, security, changes in legislation, and identify future trends

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science/Info Sec or any IT related course
  • ITIL Certification is an advantage

 

Experience Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated technical skills with a strong history of large
  • Casino and Resort operations and relevant applications

 

Skills and Attributes:

Technical Skills :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Good knowledge of interactions/integration and technical troubleshooting with various desktop/endpoint, printer, scanners,POS, etc.
  • Working knowledge in the following: Application Development and Support, SQL scripting, Database and Systems Administration, Network and Information

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Fluency in Tagalog & Japanese is an advantage
  • Self-Motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan and organise, and manage work
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems
