Manager - Network Architecture & Engineering
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Manager – Network Architecture & Engineering is responsible for leading the design, architecture, engineering, and implementation of enterprise network infrastructure solutions that support the organization’s business and technology strategy.
The role is accountable for defining network architecture standards, evaluating and implementing new technologies, designing scalable and secure enterprise network solutions, and leading infrastructure engineering initiatives involving campus networks, data center networks, cloud connectivity, remote access, and security integration.
The position ensures that network infrastructure architecture remains resilient, scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business requirements while driving technology modernization, engineering governance, infrastructure standardization, and continuous innovation across enterprise technology environments.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Network Architecture and Solution Design
- Lead enterprise network architecture design for campus, branch, data center, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Develop scalable, resilient, and secure network designs aligned with enterprise business and technology strategy.
- Define network architecture standards, design principles, and infrastructure engineering best practices.
- Ensure consistency in architecture standards across all enterprise network environments.
2. Infrastructure Engineering and Implementation
- Lead engineering and implementation of new network infrastructure deployments and major technology transformation initiatives.
- Oversee design and deployment of LAN, WAN, Wireless, Internet Edge, VPN, Data Center, and Cloud Networking solutions.
- Review technical designs and implementation plans before production deployment.
- Ensure infrastructure implementation follows architecture standards and operational readiness requirements.
3. Technology Strategy and Infrastructure Modernization
- Develop long-term network technology roadmap supporting business growth and digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend adoption strategies to improve scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.
- Lead infrastructure refresh and modernization initiatives involving replacement of legacy technologies with modern enterprise networking platforms.
- Drive adoption of software-defined networking, cloud-native networking, and intelligent network automation technologies.
4. Engineering Standards and Governance
- Establish enterprise network engineering standards, design governance frameworks, and technical architecture policies.
- Review infrastructure solutions to ensure compliance with established engineering standards and security architecture requirements.
- Maintain network design documentation, technical standards, configuration baselines, and infrastructure engineering guidelines.
- Ensure proper governance and quality assurance throughout infrastructure implementation lifecycle.

5. Security Architecture Integration
- Ensure network designs incorporate enterprise security requirements and secure architecture principles.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams in designing network segmentation, zero trust architecture, secure remote access, and identity-driven access controls.
- Ensure infrastructure design supports security compliance, regulatory standards, and enterprise governance policies.
- Participate in security architecture review and infrastructure risk assessment activities.
6. Performance Engineering and Capacity Planning
- Design infrastructure solutions capable of meeting performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
- Conduct infrastructure capacity planning and performance forecasting for future business demand.
- Review network utilization trends and recommend architecture improvements to address performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure infrastructure design supports business continuity and high availability requirements.
7. Project Delivery and Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for enterprise infrastructure transformation and network implementation projects.
- Work closely with project management teams in planning, design validation, implementation execution, and deployment governance.
- Serve as primary technical escalation point for complex infrastructure engineering decisions.
- Support cross-functional technology initiatives requiring network engineering expertise.
8. Team Leadership and Capability Development
- Lead network engineering teams responsible for architecture design, engineering, and implementation activities.
- Develop technical competency frameworks and engineering capability development plans.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical coaching on emerging technologies and advanced infrastructure design.
- Promote engineering excellence, innovation, technical discipline, and continuous knowledge development.
