Artistic Manager
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Artistic production manager ensures the execution of the Director's development, pre production, post-production and personal management as well as creative aspects of the production process. She/He oversees various tasks related to different aspects of a production and supervises everything from budgeting, implementation and timeline, as well as providing assistance to the Director in every day tasks which include relations with the different departments and BU’s and the execution and implementation of the creative vision. This position will coordinate all elements of the daily schedule such as reporting to and from the different departments to the Creative Director, preparing production timelines and arranging meetings and rehearsal schedules. She/he will be in charge of the readiness and successful run of the shows assisted by the Technical and Performance Supervisors. During rehearsals and show performances, the artistic production manager will be the Creative Director’s representative wherever he cannot physically be present.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Reports To: Director
Supervises: Performance Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, Costume Coordinator
- Assists the Creative Director with concept, development and implementation of all creative entertainment projects by being resourceful and creative, creating and implementing project timelines, assisting with the sourcing of artists and assets, creating powerpoint presentations and ensuring objective communication between all relevant parties such as artists, vendors, costume and prop makers and technical teams, all according to the Creative director’s vision.
- Manages the production readiness and success by ensuring that all contributing factors are effective, efficient and in place for the operation of the entertainment
- Assists with maintaining the highest standards of entertainment quality and consistency across all venues by ensuring the quality of performances through recruitment, training and show performance, supervising the costumes and props in use, assessing technical and performance supervision and providing immediate feedback to the Director.
- Manages the implementation of contract terms and agreements with agencies and artists by ensuring the compliance of the items including but not limited to payment release, expat benefits, hospitality riders and others.
- Assists with and implements SOPs by developing and implementing new guidelines when needed. Manages performance schedules relevant to both daily operations and events by creating and distributing operational schedule upon due coordination between all parties and Creative director’s approval.
- Manages the entertainment requests income by assessing feasibility, ensuring inter departamental coordination and implementation and maintaining the events calendar up-to date.
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirement: Performing Arts Degree and/or equivalent experience in show business
Experience Requirement:
- 10 years of experience in the performance field
- At least 5 years of choreography assistance/stage management experience
