I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for all areas relevant to the laundry including, but not limited to: sorting, quality assurance, finishing, identifying quality issues and taking corrective actions, order make-up, packing, bagging, identifying equipment problems, identifying end product quality issues / concerns and dealing with them effectively and correctly.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Receive, inspect and segregate soiled garments and linen coming from the hotel and prepare for wash process
• Inspect and prepare clean garments and linen for pressing and finishing in the appropriate area
• Finish garments and linen to required standards as directed by superiors
• Inspect finished garments and linen as required for quality and quantity
• Pack garments and linen ready for dispatch to the hotel
• Despatch garments and linen in accordance with current systems
• Communicate with Team Members and superiors to ensure the best quality service is provided at all times
• Assist in all other laundry areas as and when required
• Report any irregular activity of machine to immediate Superior
• Report torn, damaged, or any discrepancies of linen/ garments before and after wash to Quality Checker.
• Participate in periodic Operations task such as inventory, training, and Company authorized activity.
• Help to maintains inventory by communicating to Supervisors/ TLs the supplies needed.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

• At least high school graduate

Skills and Attributes:

• Understanding of quality and quality principles
• Understanding of safety regulations and rules relating to the performing of tasks
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and adhere to all policies and procedures relating to the laundry
• Ability to interpret and complete all relevant documents relating to the various functions in the laundryAbility to learn and perform all required laundry related tasks
• Ability to adhere to all the health, safety and hygiene requirements
• Ability to project the professional and positive image of the company to people that he / she interacts with
• Must be able to work shifts, weekends, overtime and Public Holidays when required
• Must be physically able to perform all laundry related tasks
• Display honesty and integrity at all times
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and written, clearly and accurately in English
