Banquet Captain
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
Banquet Captain performs all tasks associated with setting up, serving and breaking down a Events’ space where Food Service activities are performed.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Reviews and understands Banquet Event Order at the beginning of each shift to ensure the events flow smoothly.
- Communicates with Banquet Head Captain regarding any functional needs.
- Provides table service assistance by providing the same level of consistency in the quality of service and dining experience from the start to finish.
- Maintains high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas.
- Ensures that guests are comfortable by answering questions, taking orders, ensuring special requests and instructions are relayed to the Kitchen and Bar.
- Helps other Team members to complete their tasks, which include: arranging plates, running bars, and set up Beverage Stations.
- Completes the physical set up, cleaning and arrangement of tables and equipment according to Banquet Event Order. Has an eye for set up configuration.
- If no upcoming events, please have rooms in readiness position for any possible site inspections.
- Assists others with side work including, but not limited to cleanings, stocking, folding silverwares, etc.
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirement:
- Preferably College Graduate/ College Level in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, Tourism course. Preferred but not required.
- At least a Senior High School Graduate
Experience Requirements:
At least 1 year experience in the same position in the Food and Beverage Establishments/ Hotel
Skills and Attributes:
- People management since they are handling Outsourced Employees
- Basic knowledge in MS Office (Office Word/Excel/Power Point/ Outlook)
- Able to understand, use and navigate Point of sales system
- Able to operate the basic cashiering process and has an eye for detail
Other Qualifications:
- Can understand and speak Foreign Language, specifically English laguage
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, staying on your feet, carrying heavyweights
- Flexible to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
- People management since they are handling Outsourced Employees
- Basic knowledge in MS Office (Office Word/Excel/Power Point/ Outlook)
- Able to understand, use and navigate Point of sales system
- Able to operate the basic cashiering process and has an eye for detail
- Customer Service-oriented, stress tolerance and with apability/flexibility
