I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Data Scientist is responsible for preparation & delivery of analysis & reporting on relevant projects and initiatives, including but not limited to data visualization, identifying business opportunities, advanced analytics modelling, adhoc analysis requests from key stakeholders, database maintenance & enhancement. Working closely with other teams in marketing & business units to provide information support that drives the development and execution of business strategies and in turn maximize EBITDA.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Scope, build and maintain database effectively to help facilitate modelling, analysis & reporting needs
•  Scope and develop relevant new reports & dashboards in a timely manner to track business performance
• Work closely with the Data science managers in construct and test marketing concepts & initiatives by applying advanced analytics techniques
• Reliable and can work independently taking responsibility for own actions and queries whilst demonstrating a consistent work output
• Team player, both supporting and motivating all team members to achieve business objectives and common goals
• Promote a positive team atmosphere under the Company Mission and Beliefs

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

• Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, applied science or related discipline

Experience Requirements:

• 2-3 years’ experience in data science / machine learning
• Gaming experiences highly regarded but not essential
• Demonstrated success working with large data sets, developing tools for streamlined analysis and creating reports that succinctly summarize complex concepts

Leadership Skills:

• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
• Excellent organizational and decision making skills

Technical Skills:

• Competent programming skills, including SQL, Python, SAS, R, and depending on the scope of project, text mining or machine learning
• Expertise in a range of data mining, visualization and statistical techniques
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
• Strong understanding of marketing concepts such as customer value cycle, segmentation practices
