Costume Coordinator
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Costume Coordinator is responsible for the organization, maintenance and production of all Creative Entertainment wardrobe items including but not limited to costumes, shoes, accessories and props by properly communicating and delegating tasks between themselves, seamstresses, artists and vendors as well as being creative and resourceful whenever executing the Director’s ideas.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Ensures the fitting and alteration of existing costumes for new cast members by supervising and coordinating with the seamstress during measurement taking of the newly arrived artist in order to comply with the department’s esthetic standards as well as the comfort and well-being of the artist.
- Coordinates and supervises the production of all wardrobe related items by designing, identifying fabrics, procuring, purchasing, delivering and/or receiving and producing items always ensuring a proper task delegation and communication between Costume coordinator and seamstress.
- Coordinates and supervises all wardrobe related purchases for Creative Entertainment by requesting, sourcing, analyzing and approving all items either identified to be necessary for daily operations such as threads and needles or as new items request by the Creative Director such as fabrics and wigs.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and creativity in the assembly and embellishment of costumes and props, including the use of rhinestones, feathers and hot glue techniques.
- Creates, monitors, maintains and updates daily the Wardrobe inventory in order to determine the status of the items and to develop action plans for maintenance, production, re-purchase, recycle and disposal while in constant alignment with the Director.
- Prepares every performance set-up by inspecting and assessing the status and completion of all wardrobe elements to be used on that day as well as the appropriate delegation of the other team members in order to guarantee the quality standards of the show, readiness and safety of the performers.
- Ensures the cleanliness & hygiene of wardrobe items and outlets by performing daily inspections and coordinating with other departments such as Housekeeping and Laundry.
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirement:
- Education qualification in Arts or Fashion design or the equivalent in professional training and experience
Experience Requirement:
- 2 years in the field or the equivalente in training and experience
Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and organizational skills
- Communicates clearly and professionally across all levels
- Possesses the ability to conceptualize and execute creative designs, with a strong eye for detail, aesthetics, and visual presentation.
- Capable of performing basic to intermediate sewing tasks, including garment adjustments, embellishments, and minor costume construction.
- Skilled in working with decorative materials such as rhinestones, feathers, fabrics, and adhesives (e.g., glue gun), ensuring high-quality finishing and durability.
- Proven track record with an emphasis on operational excellence and continuous improvement
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrates the ability to think quickly under pressure and apply sound judgment to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
- Physically fit and capable of standing or being active for extended periods
- Handles sensitive information with a high level of discretion and professionalism; ensures accurate and confidential reporting at all times.
- Fluent in both written and oral English and Tagalog
