Senior Officer - Occupational Safety & Health
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Senior Officer - Occupational Safety & Health will assist the OSH Coordinator in ensuring all activities of the Emergency Services team according to SOP and standards of occupational safety, health and environment, and excellent OSH service expectations are achieved in a safe, secure and comfortable environment.
The Senior Officer - Occupational Safety & Health is responsible for attending all safety related activities while ensuring occupational safety, health and environment compliance and maintained in all operational activities are conducted with the highest levels of integrity.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Work closely with the OSH team as a whole
- Research, monitor, and assess workplace hazards, and coordinate and administer safety and health programs.
- Maintain an effective relationship with employees and customers, ensuring relevant information is communicated, and incidents/accident are dealt with in a discreet and confidential manner.
- Promotes health and safety awareness among all employees.
- Assist on developing company-wide safety programs, training, safety procedures and job hazard analysis
- Assist on all safety-related activities, manage safety briefings, trainings and orientation as required.
- Assist on maintaining and updating of accident investigation reports.
- Assist on maintaining and safe keeping all OSH related reports and documents
- Assist the Emergency Service Officers or above during all related serious incidents and emergencies in response, support evacuation processes, and act in the capacity of warden.
- Performs other Duties as Directed by OSH Supervisor, OSH Shift Manager and OSH Manager
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Educational Requirement:
- Graduate of any Bachelor’s Degree an Advantage
Experience Requirements:
- Preferably has an experience in Occupational Safety and Health
- Experience in Safety Inspection and Safety Briefing
- Completed mandatory 40 hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health training
Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in identifying, responding to and reducing accident / incident and other OSH issues
- Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines (DOLE OSH) and standards
