Senior Officer - Emergency Response Team

Business Unit:  Shared Services

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Senior Officer, Emergency Services supports & assists the shift supervisor, Emergency services in ensuring all activities of Emergency Services team are actioned according to SOP and standards, so that a safe, secure and comfortable environment is maintained.

 

The Senior Officer, Emergency Services undertakes the role of Officer, Emergency Services while is also responsible to assist the Shift  Supervisor, Emergency Services with his daily workload and leadership

III. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Delivery patrol assigned work area and remain on standby to attend respective incidents or emergencies immediately.
  • Attend and manage medical incidents in the first instance providing First Aid and using medical equipment as required, ensuring the Supervisor, Emergency Services or above is notified of any concerns.
  • Attend and manage potential and actual emergency situations in the first instance, investigating and reporting, and or combating as required using emergency response equipment. ensuring the Supervisor, Emergency Services or above is notified of any concerns.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Emergency Services with routine logistics, OSH inspections, and conducting audits of equipment and replenishing supplies/equipment.
  • Ensure all medical supplies or emergency equipment is immediately returned to pre-use state. Replacing used fire extinguishers/blankets, etc. ensuring fully charged deregulators and that application pads are replaced, replaced used oxygen, and overall any first aid or emergency provisions used are replaced and ready for use.
  • As directed, assist in on shift of Officers, Emergency Services and new joiner's orientation.
  • Assist the Supervisor, Emergency Services with Shift administration tasks as required.
  • To actively explore and report on any unsafe / OH&S work conditions to supervisor , Emergency Services above.
  • Assist with training other departments or participation in drills, as directed by the Supervisors, Emergency Services or above.
  • To safeguard all confidential information and to exercise due care to prevent its improper disclosure or use.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor, Emergency Services and above

IV. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Requirement:

  • Tertiary education in related fields considered an advantage.

 

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum of 2 year shift management experience in Emergency Services Coordination or Safety role.

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Tagalog and English-Fluent Written and verbal

  • Advanced first Aid modules including CPR, use of oxygen and defibrillator.
