I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
Senior Engineer - Systems responsible is to design, implement, and manage our IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Role should extensive experience in virtualization, Windows and Linux server administration, enterprise network services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), and Microsoft Exchange & M365.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Design, deploy, and manage a highly available virtualized infrastructure (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Oversee Windows and Linux enterprise server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance.
- Administer and optimize enterprise Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server (On-Prem and Hybrid) and M365, ensuring seamless email, collaboration, and security.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless IT operations across multiple departments.
- Implement automation and configuration management (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or similar) to improve efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues to minimize downtime in a 24/7 operational setting.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity best practices, including PCI-DSS (if applicable).
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and documentation for IT support teams.
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirement:
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, preferably in a large-scale environment.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
- Deep understanding of enterprise Active Directory, GPO, DNS, and DHCP administration.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/2019) and Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune).
- Experience with Hybrid Exchange deployments and M365 security & compliance best practices.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and configuration management.
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
- Knowledge of cloud integration, hybrid environments, and modern infrastructure technologies.
- Strong analytical skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and end-users. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT Groups
- Effective prioritization and management of multiple tasks and projects
Other Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE (Microsoft Exchange or Windows Server), RHCE, VCP, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure).
- Experience in hospitality, gaming, or resort IT operations.
- Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (ITIL), compliance (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001), and enterprise monitoring tools.
