I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

Senior Specialist – Cloud Engineer responsible is to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions. This position will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud. Role should have a deep understanding of cloud-based services, networking, monitoring and automation tools. It plays a critical role in ensuring our cloud services operate efficiently, meet business needs, and align with industry best practices.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud service which drives resilient and cost-effective cloud-based services
• Monitor and optimize operating costs thru finops and right-sizing cloud instances
• Perform necessary instance planning in order to identify subscription or pre-pay services to optimize subscription cost
• Setup and configure cloud metrics, traces and logs in order to capture cloud services performance
• Perform constant improvements on available strategy thru instance zoning and availability zones
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud services and infrastructure.
• Automate routine tasks to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement cloud security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring tools.
• Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Collaborate with software developers, IT teams, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Educational Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

Experience Requirement:

• 3–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role.

Skills and Attributes:

• Proficiency with major cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud (certifications are a plus).
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Knowledgeable in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understand the concept of FinOps
• Solid understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity practices
• Strong analytical skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT Groups
• Effective prioritization and management of multiple tasks and projects.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies, tools, and business requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent certification.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
