Housekeeping Supervisor - Public Area

Business Unit:  Hospitality & Entertainment
Division:  Hotel

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Housekeeping Supervisor - Public Area is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned area by thoroughly inspecting the perimeter assigned and supervising the performance of team members within the designated area.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Thoroughly inspects the assigned areas (e.g. hotel public areas, F&B outlets, gaming, etc.) to ensure its cleanliness and maintenance
  • Ensures the proper handling and maintenance of all applicable materials, supplies, chemicals, equipment and other consumables used by assigned staff
  • Reports defects and any safety issue as necessary
  • Maintains and submits a daily log showing assignments, project status, notations on repairs and maintenance items, special cleaning requirements and all other items that should be brought to the attention of the Managers and Director of Public Area
  • Checks the cleanliness, maintenance, par stocking and security of Janitorial pantry/service area
  • Adheres and complies with safety requirements at all times and ensures the highest level of safety and security by facilitating effective programs that deliver in a high degree of awareness among staff, including but not limited to Hotel Emergency Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety, etc. and responds accordingly, when and where applicable
  • Applies knowledge in chemical storage and keeps corresponding MSDS and other documentation up-to-date
  • Delivers friendly, courteous and efficient quality service to all guests and fellow staff and ensures timely response to their needs
  • Supervises the performance of assigned Public Area team members including conducting shift briefing/debriefing as needed, reviewing staff performance, coaching and monitoring
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of training programs to all Public Area staff
  • Creates a positive and highly motivated working environment that promotes and develops teamwork among staff
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Management

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

  • At least College Level 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management or any related program is an advantage

 

Experience Requirement: 

  • At least two years experience as Supervisor in the same capacity Skills and Attributes
