Housekeeping Specialist - Public Area

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Housekeeping Specialist- Public Area cares and maintains all assigned areas, with special attention to the specialized, professional and proficient cleaning of various surfaces which include but are not limited to carpeted, natural stone, wooden, chandeliers and the likes, in accordance with the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by Okada Manila.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Ensures all projects, special works and cleaning tasks, routine or otherwise, in the Gaming/Casino areas as well coordinated with the Operation Manager/Supervisor and other relevant persons.

2. Perform various and special cleaning and maintenance tasks which include but are not limited to the following:

3. Surveys designated area to identify which works are needed most to maximize time and productivity

4. Performs Housekeeping Public Area special tasks:

  • Crystallization, buffing and polishing as scheduled or as needed.
  • Shampoos/extracts/encapsulates carpeted area/s as scheduled or as needed.
  • High levels cleaning i.e. chandeliers, signage, roof deck etc.

5. Handles all housekeeping cleaning supplies, materials, chemicals and/or equipment with utmost care and attention with a high regard for safety and security and ensures its proper use.

6. Reports furniture, fixtures carpet or any other hotel properties and any defects for preventive maintenance to the supervisor.

7. Reports all defective, damaged and/or abused supplies, materials, chemicals and/or equipment to the supervisor.

8. Accurately reports and surrenders all lost and found items encountered in a timely manner.

9. Ensures effective communication and proper endorsement to the next shift to ensure continuity of housekeeping services.

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Educational Requirement:

  • High School Graduate to College level
  • TESDA NCII-Housekeeping

 

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 1 year being a Housekeeping Public Area or Room Attendant specially in the Casino

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Team Player
  • Service Oriented
  • Minimal Supervision                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Well verse in using all housekeeping equipment & machine
  • Very familiar with all housekeeping cleaning & chemical supplies
  • Well knowledge in various & specialize housekeeping cleaning task

 

Other qualifications:

  • Able to speak & understand basic English
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Presentable & well mannered
