I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

The Commis is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items, ensuring that high standards of hygiene, quality, and safety are maintained in the kitchen.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  • Assists in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and other food items.
  • Assists with receiving and storing deliveries by checking the quality of all items and ensuring they are stored properly. Additionally, inspect stock, rotate inventory, and monitor expiration dates.
  • Prepares basic dishes under supervision to maintain consistent taste and presentation.
  • Ensures that all food is cooked to the specified standards and served at the appropriate temperature.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the workplace for hygiene and safety measures.
  • Communicates with team members, offering assistance and support as required.
  • Adheres to uniform and grooming standards

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Educational Requirement:

  • Minimum high school graduate

 

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 1 year experience in the kitchen

 

Skills and Attributes: 

  • Able to develop leadership skills for future succession
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, utensils, and cooking techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

 

Other Qualifications: 

  • The role requires flexibility and adaptability to changing demands and schedules.
