Associate - Distribution
I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:
The Associate - Distribution is responsible for the distribution of goods and items from the origin to the location of the business unit. Depending on the demands of the operations, the Associate - Distribution may be assigned in Warehouse or Receiving area, ensuring efficiency of accepting goods for prompt distribution to the business unit who requested.
II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Takes charge of the distribution of goods and items from the point of origin, whether from warehouse or receiving area to the business unit’s location based on the Inventory Requisitions (IR) and Delivery Sheet (DS)
- Guarantees that the physical delivery and the documentation required are reconciled with no deviations, duly signed and acknowledged by the receiver before the release of the goods and items
- Holds accountability for the proper use of assigned material handling equipment or work tools, including radios, and secures the periodic checking of its conditions prior to use, with any irregularities and defects found reported immediately to the immediate superior
- Adheres to the division’s quality management systems: guidelines, procedures, work instructions and forms; and provides possible improvements for further development of the processes
- Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Management
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Educational Requirement:
- High School diploma; preferably at least College level or equivalent technical courses or National Certification in operating forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
Experience Requirement:
- Experience in warehouse environment or similar function is preferred
Skills and Attributes:
- Knowledgeable of basic mathematical calculations
- Knowledgeable of basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Knowledgeable of cleaning and sanitation, food safety, good warehousing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements
- Proficient in operating material handling equipment, preferable with certification
Other Qualifications:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to withstand prolonged walking, standing, bending, pushing, stooping, kneeling and access all areas of facilities without restrictions
- Willing to work on a flexible schedule, which may include extended hours, weekends and holidays; and render overtime as operations may require
